Black History Month Food Giveaway: Christy’s Foundation & Albertsons Distribute Over 60,000 Pounds of Food
In honor of Black History Month, Christy’s Foundation Food Relief Program proudly partnered with Albertsons for a powerful community event that delivered more than just groceries—it delivered hope.
During this impactful Black History Month food giveaway, we distributed over 60,000 pounds of food to families in need across the Los Angeles area. From fresh produce and dairy to meats and non-perishable essentials, we ensured that no family left empty-handed.
To further promote health and wellness, attendees also received free cookbooks filled with nutritious, easy-to-make recipes. These cookbooks not only support healthy living but also celebrate the cultural traditions and culinary history rooted in the Black community.
🗣️ “We’re not just feeding families—we’re empowering them to nourish themselves with love, dignity, and knowledge,” said Christy Dawson, Founder of Christy’s Foundation.
Thanks to the incredible support from Albertsons, our volunteers, and generous donors, this event was a huge success. Families walked away with full bags, warm hearts, and helpful tools for healthy cooking.
