Christy’s Foundation Food Relief Program is excited to host a Back-to-School Giveaway in Northridge, CA, bringing free groceries, backpacks, school supplies, clothing, and our signature fun socks to families in need. This special August 21 community event at the Northridge Fashion Center Mall is designed to help children start the school year prepared and confident, while also easing the burden on parents facing rising food and supply costs. Families are welcome to join us for this uplifting day of giving, connection, and hope.
The Need Is Real: Food Insecurity and School Readiness
One in eight U.S. households with children struggles to afford enough food. That means millions of kids go to school without proper nutrition, which impacts their ability to focus, learn, and thrive.
Back-to-school shopping has also become more difficult for many families. The average household now spends over $890 per child on supplies, clothing, and shoes each year — a cost that’s simply out of reach for many.
Christy’s Foundation is here to help meet these urgent needs with compassion and community support.
What We Accomplished This Week
Thanks to our dedicated volunteers and supporters:
- Distributed over 30 thousands of pounds of fresh, healthy groceries to families in need
- Provided backpacks filled with school supplies so students are ready to learn
- Gave out new clothes and our signature “Fun Socks” to bring joy and comfort to the school year
- Helped hundreds of children start the year with confidence and dignity
