DESCRIPTION:Food insecurity is one of the biggest challenges facing families in Los Angeles today. Across the United States\, more than 44 million people\, including 1 in 5 children\, struggle to find enough food. Right here in Los Angeles County\, over 1 million residents experience food insecurity every year. Rising grocery prices and economic uncertainty are making it harder for families to put healthy meals on the table. \n\n\n\nAt Christy’s Foundation Food Relief Program\, we believe no one should go hungry. That’s why we provide free groceries\, diapers\, and essential items every week to families across the San Fernando Valley. Located inside the Northridge Fashion Center Mall\, our program is helping to reduce hunger and bring hope to thousands of families. \n\n\n\nThe Impact of Christy’s Foundation\n\n\n\nEvery week\, we serve hundreds of families through large-scale food distributions. Our mission is to provide healthy\, nutritious food that families can count on. So far this year\, we’ve achieved: \n\n\n\n\n300\,000+ pounds of food distributed to local families.\n\n\n\nMore than 15\,000 individuals served\, including children\, seniors\, and single parents.\n\n\n\n120\,000+ pounds of fresh produce like fruits and vegetables\, supporting healthier lifestyles.\n\n\n\nHigh-quality proteins including chicken\, fish\, and turkey\, ensuring balanced meals.\n\n\n\nDiapers and baby essentials for families with infants and young children.\n\n\n\n\nHow We’re Fighting Hunger Every Day\n\n\n\n\nWeekly Food Relief Distributions – Every Thursday at our Northridge location\, we hand out over 30\,000 pounds of free groceries to families in need.\n\n\n\nHoliday Food Giveaways – During Thanksgiving and Christmas\, we provide turkeys\, chickens\, hams\, and full meals so families can celebrate with dignity.\n\n\n\nNutrition & Healthy Eating Education – We don’t just give food. We also provide resources on how to prepare affordable\, healthy meals using the items we distribute.\n\n\n\nCommunity Partnerships – With the support of local businesses\, sponsors\, and volunteers\, we’re able to expand our reach and serve more people every month.\n\n\n\n\nWhy This Matters\n\n\n\nFood insecurity doesn’t just mean going hungry.
